| The trip to Patagonia was a huge success. Explora Lodge was a definite hit, the food was great and we participated in their explorations every day - the scenery is exquisite no matter where you go and the guides were very well trained, friendly young people.. The busses we took from Puerto Natales to El Calafate and back to Punta Arenas were very modern, comfortable and punctual. In El Calafate we rented a car and drove the very scenic road to El Chalten as well as to the Berito Moreno glacier. The boat tour with a walk on the glacier was worth every penny, the sights breath- taking. The hotels you selected in Punta Arenas and Puerto Montt were very nice. The penguin tour was despite rain showers very enjoyable. The lake district with its volcanoes (which we saw with sunshine and blue skies) was exciting and worth a visit. The much anticipated Lake Crossing, however, brought only rain and low clouds - a reason to return and do it again. Bariloche was nice for last minute shopping of chocolates, leather jackets and handbags. |
Thanks for helping plan this great trip, I would not want to do anything differently.

Carole and I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for arranging such a wonderful trip for us. Your advice proved completely accurate and the arrangements you made for us were exactly what we wanted. We appreciated the upgrades! Your local agents proved entirely reliable and we used their services for excellent tours in Bariloche and Buenos Aires. The boat trip was a real highlight. The temperature was great for us but perhaps not as good for the glaciers -- sunny and about 50F.
We met a nice group on the boat and we are tentatively planning to get together in Lima in a couple of years. One way or another we will want to go to Peru and we will be in touch.
If you want a reference/recommendation, feel free to use us as an example of extremely satisfied customers.

Maria, Happy new year. We are home after three glorious and wonderful weeks in South America and I wanted to thank you for making the arrangements for the Patagonia part of our trip. Apart from a two-hour delay with the flight from El Calafate to Buenos Aires, everything went very smoothly (although I wouldn't fly Austral again unless there was no other alternative). We very much enjoyed our time in Torres del Paine and at the Explora lodge and the cruise on Mare Australis was very special. Los Notros was a disappointment for several reasons (both the facility itself and the very limited number of activities available), athough we loved the glacier and seeing it up close was very special; given this to do again we would stay in El Calafate (and probably spend one day less in El Calafate). That said, however, we enjoyed the trip very much and were very happy to have done it.
I hope your holidays were wonderful and that your transition into 2010 was effortless and fun. Wishing you all the best and much health and happiness in the new year. Thanks again. best,

Just a note of thanks for all your help both before and during our trip to Chile. I really appreciate all that you did to make sure that we had a good vacation! I know that we probably drove you a bit crazy with all the transportation changes...to and from the airport with 2 people, 4 people, 6 people, etc!! It all worked so well and smoothly! I just wish I had found you before making all the flight reservations!!
I loved Chile, and hope to return!! I'd like to visit the Lake District and Chiloe Island sometime. Also I'd like to visit Bolivia (Do you "do" Bolivia?)

I am now back in England having had a fantastic time in Chile. I think the holiday at the explora hotel in San Pedro de Atacama was one of the best holidays I have ever had.
Thank you so much for organising the flights, hotels and Explora. Everything went really well. No problems at all. I will definitely be returning to South America, Chile even, and I will contact you again when I do.
My feedback on the hotels in Santiago is that the Hotel Galerias is far better than the Hotel Plaza San Francisco - staff more friendly, nice rooms, better bathrooms, free internet - overall good value for money. Holiday Inn Santiago Airport was very good too for an airport hotel.

Our trip to Chile was wonderful, thanks to your planning.
The Hotel Galerias in the City Center of Santiago was perfect for us to spend three days walking around to the churches, plazas, market, museums and seeing an "opera" (The Barber of Seville) in a "real" opera house, the Municipal Theater with its FOUR balconies going straight up.
The Hotel Iorana on Easter Island was perfect for us, up on the hill overlooking the ocean. A couple of times we walked to the cave next to the hotel, sat in the cave and looked out at the ocean, including once at sunset. The organized tours were great and for the free half-day we walked into the town, saw more statues, etc. On Sunday we attended the Mass where there is signing and musical instruments. I especially enjoyed the accordian as part of the music at the Mass, since I played it as a child and still fool around with mine once in a awhile.
In Punta Arenas the Hotel Jose Nogueira was perfect because of its central location and the fact that it was a beautiful historical building. From there the drive up to Torres del Paine was a real adventure as we stopped along the way numerous times and found the black headed swans in Puerto Natales. We felt like we were the first people to discover the park. The Hotel Lago Grey was extremely nice, making you feel as though were out in nature, close to the glacier, the lake, the hills and the animals (woodpeckers and fox).
My wife and I have been to 50 countries, so we have a lot of travel to compare this trip to. So it means a lot when I say that you listened to my wishes and planned a PERFECT trip for the two of us.

We had a wonderful time on the trip to Chile. The tour guide from ADS Mundo (Emilena - I think that's how you spell it) was especially good and the tours of Santiago and Val Parasio/Vina del Mar made it much more than just a ski trip.
The food up at Valle Nevado was also really good- better than we had in Italy! (I am Italian so that's a particularly hard thing to admit). The wine was better, too.
I will recommend you if someone ask for advice on travel to Latin America

We have fallen in love with South America. Everything in
Argentina and Chile was perfect. The travel guides and accommodations--
both were wonderful. The highlights were: The exquisite
Alvear Palace and Tango night/dinner at Esquina Carlos Gardel
in Buenos Aires (also great shopping in Buenos Aires and
nice city tour with guide), the beautiful Llao Llao between
Lake Nahuel Huapi and Lake Moreno, the “sail”
across the Andes with snow capped volcanoes and wild flowers
arriving at lovely Puerto Varas on Lake Llanquihue with
a striking view of the perfect Osorno Volcano; We liked
everything about the Explora Lodge—it turned out that
the weather for our entire trip was unusually sunny and
clear with occasional rainbows. Only the second day hike
at Torres del Paine was windy with sleet/rain/ (and snow
for Lee who took the challenge of the hike to the British
Camp) but even that day it stopped raining for lunch and
the wind and rain just gave us a better feel for Patagonia.
The vacation gods were definitely with us. The Explora staff
and guides were all professional, informative and service
oriented. Each day on the trail the guides unloaded their
packs and carefully laid out a checkered table cloth for
a delicioso lunch with hot soup, sandwiches with guacamole,
artichoke hearts, home-made deserts and coffee with Baileys
optional. We thoroughly enjoyed the Grey Glacier hike/glacier
boat trip and the barbecue and horseback ride at the Estancia
with the gaucho’s. We saw condors, guanaco families,
rhea families and eagles. The purple and pink lupines and
other wildflowers en route were absolutely stunning. We
missed the catamaran/zodiac from Torres del Paine to Puerto
Natales because of high winds but loved the penguin trip
the next day on the way to Punta Arenas (the area opened
about 8 AM – a great time when there are very few
people in the study area and the penguins are out of their
burrows with their young with one mate parading to the ocean
for food. There are extensive board walks and a special
viewing area to watch the gymnastics in the waves). The
Ritz Carlton in Santiago was another plus, plus, plus –the
rooms were lovely and the staff so accommodating with our
late departure time. Every transfer went smoothly—the
guides were always on time and extremely helpful with interactions
at the airports. Thank you again for working so patiently
with us to make all the pieces fit together. We will definitely
highly recommend you personally and also Latintrip to our
friends and families.

which we returned home yesterday. It was fantastic start
to finish.
Our third leg of our trip was the Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza,
and what a great place! The staff and facility were just
great. We had a couple days of touring the area's museum,
the wineries and an olive oil business. The town is very
charming. We will definately be recommending the hotel
and general area to our friends and family. And I personally
look forward to returning some day.

Ceci,
Returning from Chile, I would like to inform you that everything
was OK and that all the services were provided according
to what was agreed.
Transfers, guides, excursions and car rental were just great.
Concerning the hotels, only the rooms of Charles Darwin
Hotel in Puerto Natals were quite small and the hotel has
no other services than the (poor) breakfast. The Casa de
Don Tomas, in San Pedro de Atacama, is a basic hotel but
the rooms have enough space. All the rest were according
to our expectations.
In general, the only problem with the trip is time. To visit
Chile we need, at least, 2 months, not weeks!
Thank you very much for all your help and above all for
the professionalism shown. I certainly would recommend your
agency (and your personal) services to any of my friends
who will consider a future trip to Chile.

were excellent. We had A women that picked us up at the
airport and did our 2 tours in Santiago. Her name was
Julie (or Julia) and then we had a man named James who
took us on the tour of Vina/Valparaiso and transported
us there. They could not have been better.
The hotels were both great, and the locations were wonderful.
Overall we had a fantastic trip. I would be sure to recommend
your Services. If you ever need a recommendation please
be sure to let me know.

but i think if anyone had more than 24 hours to spend
